The Mothers Union
What is the Mothers’ Union?
The Mothers’ Union is a Christian organisation with more than a million members worldwide. Though our lives and our experience of the Mothers’ Union may differ widely depending on where we are, we are all joined together by our shared belief in the importance of family values.
What does the Mothers’ Union do?
We run projects and activities to encourage and support families in everyday life – locally, nationally and internationally. We care about family life and that’s why activities like parenting groups and holidays for families under stress are so successful and popular. We want to be able to counteract the isolation felt by many parents in their local communities.
How can I get involved?
You can get involved in a number of ways. Whether you want to become a member of the Mothers’ Union, take advantage of our services or offer your volunteer work, you will be welcomed.
Alternatively contact your local diocese for more information on MU projects.
Who runs these projects in my local community?
The Mothers’ Union has volunteers all over the country who give their time to important initiatives – for example, the Mothers’ Union accredited Parenting Programme and the ‘Up To Speed’ drugs awareness initiative – in their local communities.
Who can join the Mothers’ Union?
If you are baptised and you believe in the importance of family life, we would love you to join the Mothers’ Union. Men and women, married and unmarried, parent or not – all can, and do, join the Mothers’ Union.
