Parish Fellowship

Jesus said “I have called you friends” John 15 vs.15

Home Groups

There are various home groups in the Parish who usually meet fortnightly.

There are opportunities to discuss our faith in the informal atmosphere of a small group, in the comfort of a ‘home’. In this way we grow as Christians, increasing our confidence and knowledge through discussions, bible studies, DVD’s etc. Equally important is prayer and loving care for one another.

Sharing our worries and concerns can be very helpful and the group gives support when needed. Anyone may start a group in this Parish with support from staff if required.

Mothers’ Union

Mothers' Union Emblem

The Mothers’ Union is a world-wide society whose aim is the advancement of Christian religion the sphere of family life. It is open to all, both men and women who are prepared to uphold the Aims and Objects of the society.

They meet on the first Tuesday of each month in Holy Trinity Church at 2.15pm for prayers, and in the Parish Centre on the third Tuesday at 2.00pm and evenings as announced. Come and join us!

The programme is on the notice board in the Link to the Hall.

Circle Dancing

A group of friendly dancers meet in Holy Trinity Hall twice a month to share faith, fun and fellowship. They meet on the first and third Thursday afternoon of the month at 1.30pm. No partner or experience is necessary. Contact Pat on 01329 235381 for more information.

Everyone is welcome!

People Alone Circle (PAC)

P.A.C. is a group set up to help the lonely and those who live alone. It focuses on men and women of all ages who are either single or separated, divorced or widowed.

P.A.C. meets in the Parish Centre on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 2.00pm.

An informal chat over a cup of coffee is followed by a discussion. In these troubled times it is increasingly difficult to go out alone and P.A.C. offers the opportunity for people who are alone to share interests such as the theatre, restaurants, museums, shopping, coach trips etc. and holidays have also been shared.

Coffee After Worship

Coffee cup

Every Sunday after the 9.30am/10.00am Communion Service, coffee, tea and squash are served in our two churches. This gives us the opportunity to meet and get to know other members of the congregations, especially those visiting us for the first time.

Welcome

Church Welcomers

For the last fourteen years Holy Trinity has been open and welcoming callers during the week. Since 2011, this welcome has included Saturday’s too. People look in to pray, find some quiet or just look at this beautiful home of ours. Each day a small team of two volunteers “sit” in the church in two shifts (11.00am – 1.00pm and 1.00pm – 3.00pm)

More welcomers are needed. If you would you like to join the team and be one of those who welcome visitors contact Judy Jacobs on 01329 232855

Little Fishes Toddler Group

Little Fishes is a group for children aged 3 and under who meet on Wednesdays in Holy Trinity hall. Our youngest members are a matter of weeks old, and our oldest have just started pre–school. We have many toys from play gyms and cushions for the babies, through to a wendy house and ride on toys for the older children. We very often have a simple ‘craft table’ for the children to make something to take home – sometimes as a project over several weeks, for example our Christmas tree decorations. We’re a friendly bunch of people, and we want to see you and your children whether the children are in high spirits, or you’re exhausted because you’ve been up with them all night! A friendly face, and a cup of tea, and someone else to hold the baby, can do wonders! We finish the morning with a short, simple service with plenty of singing, and lots of instruments for the children to play. We officially start at 9.30am but generally people come along as and when they’re ready. Come along and meet us! We are also on Facebook. Look out for our Messy Church Events here too!
